I was recently shooting a wedding in Los Angeles where I came across an awesome DIY project, Wine Cork Escort Cards. The couple loved wine, and found a way to bring their love of it to their special day.
There are a few ways of making these escort cards, but this is how they did it.
First off comes the collecting of the corks. The obvious, consumption of this adult grape beverage over a long period of time. And asking friends to save them for you. What surprised me was that you could buy them online. A quick online search will get you what you are looking for.
The building process is pretty easy. All you need is a box cutter and a plastic card like a rewards card or a credit card. One quick cut down the cork, then slide the card down to clean the cut out. The only thing to keep in mind is where the logo on the cork is facing. Next, slide your escort cards in the cut and you are done! Wanna know something else that is way cool? When you are all done, package them up and sell them. Other folks will buy them pre cut.
If you feel like you want to decorate the corks a bit more, a glue gun and some flowers, or flatback rhinestone buttons, and you are all set! The opportunities go as far as your imagination. Hope you have fun if you decide to make em!
